Katia Crivellari started as a nurse before enrolling in acting and screenwriting courses. She has been an actress in different shorts and features. Open Call is the first short film that she wrote (with Iliès) and directed by herself. Before, she had co-directed another shortfilm. "Nana" her first produced short film is now in post-production while she is still working as an actress. Working with different directors as an actress was very precious, it helped her to learn more about filmmaking while on set. she also worked as a health and safety coordinator and nurse on high budget films (Asterix, The Substance). It was intense but it was also a good way to handle different people and know more about the various jobs and their duties.
