Job, Joris & Marieke is an animationstudio from Utrecht. Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins en Marieke Blaauw got to know each other during their studies at the Design Academy Eindhoven. In 2007 they founded their studio. They make short films, music videos and commissioned work. Their films are known for their tragicomic and absurd stories, crowded by characters, who are designed in their simple and iconic style. And all their films have a catchy yet melancholic soundtrack. All these things combined is the world of Job, Joris & Marieke.
In 2013 they released their film MUTE. Their second short film, A Single Life, was nominated for an Oscar in 2015, in the category ‘best animated short’. Since then the studio is focused on making short films. In 2015 their short film (Otto) had it’s première on the prestigious TIFF festival in Canada and was nominated for a Rockie Award.
In 2016 they made their 21 minute short film Kop Op (Heads Together) in co-production with Viking Film and VPRO. This film was awarded with an International Emmy Kids Award in 2019 in the category animation. The film was also nominated for the Prix de Jeunesse, a Rockie Award, and a Cinekid Kinderkast.
In 2018 thet made the short film A Double Life, which was nominated for a Golden Calf at the Netherlands Film Festival.
In 2022 the studio presents the series Kop Op (Swop) which was based on the film Kop Op. They also got to open their first big solo exhibition A Triple Life at the Kunsthal Rotterdam.
Their films and music videos won over 75 awards and were screened on over 300 filmfestivals around the globe.
